I'm Brian Quinn. I have had an interest in art and photography since I was in high school. Art has been the backbone of my family. My uncle Ed Havas and Paul Havas were very well know artists.
My first "real" camera was a 35mm Canon AE1 Program. I had a variety of lenses and equipment to go with it. Whether still life or action, I enjoyed nature photography the most. Nature photography is a great way to "get away" from the "grind." I joined the Air Force in 1985 and with camera in hand I set out to see the world. I entered some of my photos in contests and actually won a few "prizes" for my work. Unfortunately my AE1 broke and I never replaced it and stopped my photography. I still was always wanting to get my hands on a camera, even the inexpensive point-and-shoot ones, and take pictures.
Fast forward to 2012 and I am retired from the Air Force, my kids are all grown on moved on and I needed a new hobby. Why not rekindle an old hobby. So I purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR to get started. It was a challenge to remember all those photography things I once knew. Then throw in all the amazing new digital stuff and I am having fun (I'm a computer operator!!). I'm still learning, still experimenting but I am having fun. And with digital photography you can experiment all you want without wasting film!!!!! This web site will have some of my photography and some of the art work I have been doing. Take a look, enjoy.
Update: 2018-traded in the old EOS Rebel T3 for a EOS SL-2. Great camera for a great price. 2019-Purchased a Sigma 18-300 Wide angle zoom lens for the SL-2. I like having an all in one lens when I do my walks so I don't have to carry a bunch of equipment with me.
